No, those are not my stats, but these are the habits of Suga Yoshihide. Rain or shine. Everyday.
I didn’t know much about Suga san aside from him being the longest serving #chiefcabinetsecretary in #Japan’s history. Now he’s widely seen as the top runner in the race to become the next #PrimeMinisterofJapan
I thought I had nothing in common with Suga san. But strangely I am finding a sudden #alliance with him because I too am striving for this dedication to an exercise routine, and focus on health and wellbeing.
“I'm good at setting targets and taking up #habits ...” Suga san says in the Nikkei (see link in comments). Sure, he’s got to do the real work of a PM if he gets the job, but I think these core exercise and health habits would serve him well as a solid base of stamina for the heavy lifting job of Prime Minister.
As for me, well I’ve lost 17.2 kgs (and counting) in the last 11 months. So what helps habits stick? Check out my 4️⃣ #lawyerlearnings in the comments below👇
#1 Accountability for our Actions – it’s so hard to do it all by yourself. I’m in a slimming group with 2 others and we announce our goals, check in daily by app, encourage and applaud💥
#2 Focus on the Few: Too many goals is like a sponge with too much water. It’s better to drill down to 2 or 3 things and do them well 💥
#3 Rewarding your Realization: some sweet reward is a motivator. Suga san has something sweet every day! Pancakes are apparently his favorite. For me something "sweet" ranges from investing in a business training program to a sweet-treat like #Whitakers chocolate when accomplish a goal💥
#4 Sure and steady: my aim is for 10,000 steps a day. I do just 4000 now. Baby steps, I know. But I’m building up literally step by step which are small nudges towards building the mental muscle which makes building the physical muscle that little bit easier💥
