some of our Frequently Asked Questions

  • First, I’d like to know why you’d like to come on my show. Are you a female lawyer with a nexus to Japan? Have you overcome challenges on your path and want to help others smash through their struggles by what you can share with them? Do you want to stretch your confidence and speak out loud for the first time about what it’s like for you to be a lawyer in Japan? Have you listened to an episode or two that resonated with you?

Tell me what it was that made you feel inspired by my guests’ stories. Listen to the episodes, and send me a message, and I’ll certainly give you a chance to come tell your story and unlock the wisdom you would like to share with my listeners

  • Yes! Corporate podcast production is a signature offering provided through Jandals Media – a media platform for corporate podcast launches, and media/events production and management. J Jandals Media is a company run in collaboration between Jayne Nakata and Catherine O'Connell. We help corporates create their own podcasts to help them communicate with both their internal employee audience, potential talent, and intended end-consumers of their products or services. A corporate podcast helps businesses attract talent and improve employee retention and inclusion by building familiarity and letting your audience hear your voice directly. Our corporate podcast offering requires minimal effort on your part because we do the heavy lifting for you. If you are interested in creating a corporate podcast get in touch with us

  • Yes! Launching a podcast can feel overwhelming if you're doing it by yourself, and it can make you put off becoming one. But you don't have to do it alone. I didn’t! I had a collaborator! I also got coached on how to do it and I now provide that insight to people wanting to host their own podcast.

I can help you develop a podcast concept, sketch out your niche theme, choose your podcast format (interview, educational, etc.), direct you to your podcast music and artwork, get the tech side of things sorted for you (it’s not as hard as you might think), and most of all, I can teach you how to be confident and banish podcaster imposter syndrome, find creative questions to ask guests and get you over the line to launch and hold your hand as you grow your show!

  • Like everything in life that is worth it, becoming a great podcast host also takes some effort. You need to skill up, practice your art, and be willing to give it a go without being perfect and get better as you go. To help your podcast really thrive, learning how to create the conversation that your audience wants, be good at conversation, as well as seeking out interesting guests to interview on your show are all key.

I started from zero to become a confident podcast host of my own show (Lawyer on Air) and co-host of the Jandals in Japan Podcast. When I listened to my hero podcasters I thought they were professionals from the get-go. But none of us are and if you compare yourself to “their now” against “your now” then you might feel afraid to podcast. But I assure you, that confidence is a skill you can get better at! helping you find that podcaster inside of you who is just waiting to step up and tell your story or give a voice to the people that matter to you. Soon you too will be podcasting and interviewing with confidence.
