Working as a Sole Practitioner in Tokyo - Panel discussion hosted by Women in Law Japan (WILJ)
On May 30, Catherine O'Connell participated in a panel discussion on "Working as a Sole Practioner in Tokyo" hosted by Women in Law Japan at the beautiful headquarters of Amazon Japan. The event was moderated by Angela Krantz, the Legal Director and Associate General Counsel of Amazon Japan. We discussed our various career paths, what the average day of a sole practioner looks like, how working in a solo or small law firm differs from working in a law firm or in-house, and many other interesting topics. It was such a pleasure to speak afterwards 1:1 with the summer interns from law firms in Tokyo, in-house counsel, and various young and seasoned private practice and in-house lawyers who attended.
The panelists were as follows
Catherine O'Connell of Catherine O'Connell Law
Mangyo Kinoshita of Southgate Law
Reid Monroe-Sheridan of Monroe-Sheridan Foreign Law Office
Keiko Ohara of Kamiyacho International Law Office
John Saski of JSV Foreign Law Office
Akiko Yamakawa of Vanguard Lawyers Tokyo
